The building is organized on 3 levels accessible to people in wheelchairs: 2 living units and 1 lower ground floor reserved for medical activities. The 1st floor is made up of 2 wings distributed on either side of the atrium.

The atrium, the heart of the units, opens onto collective spaces: dining rooms, activity rooms … The lower ground floor brings together the infirmary, the physiotherapy room, the offices of psychologists, psychomotor therapists, occupational therapists and doctors; There is also the sensory space, balneotherapy as well as a room reserved for relaxation and relational touch. At this level, a large and flexible multipurpose space allows the development of various activities and highlights of the institution (parties, residents’ meetings, meetings with families)

Strong points

  • Establishment structured horizontally and vertically around the “heart of the house” (atrium on 3 levels)
  • Organization of cohabitation between the 2 groups of residents (polyhandicapped and mentally handicapped) allowing both autonomy and social life
  • Steeply sloping ground which is used (building R + 1 and R + 2) to multiply the level accesses.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Electric heating programming
  • Treatment of PE by retention / infiltration (buried basin)
